Getting around Barcelona: metro, tram and bus from your accommodation
Barcelona's integrated transport system is one of its strengths for students. Metro lines, trams and buses cover most neighbourhoods, and passes like T-jove and T-usual keep monthly costs modest.
If you live in central or well-connected districts such as Eixample, Gràcia, Poblenou or Les Corts, you can typically reach campus and the city centre within 10-30 minutes. Using a single pass, you can attend classes, visit friends in other neighbourhoods and make regular trips to the beach or parks without worrying about individual ticket prices.
When evaluating rooms, check both daytime and late-evening routes: some metro lines and buses are better than others for getting home after events or late study sessions. Combining walking with public transport from a well-located base usually offers the best compromise between cost, time and flexibility.
